Staring at the sea

2021 Alta art association. This was my contribution to the group exhibition SNAP

Grethe Irene Einarsen's works are processed observations of events and moods during travels in Lofoten. Retold with various media such as photographic images, needle and thread, old wallpaper samples and handmade paper made from grass from Gimsøy.

The works contain scenes from a journey, existential reflections and stories about people's encounter with the divine in nature. People leave their mark on nature, and nature leaves its mark on us. In the encounter with the powerful Lofoten nature, one can feel that one is part of something bigger than oneself.

Lofoten's jagged, steep mountains and the eternal horizon are constantly recurring.

Einarsen's contribution to SNAP consists of approximately 20 small and large works, and is a tribute to nature and the people who walk carefully in it.
